Pair Chinese Song Dynasty Porcelain Plate 1000 AD (Y429)
An exceptionally rare pair of antique Chinese plates glazed in a beautiful duck-egg blue Yingqing (Qingbai) glaze, dating to the Song dynasty (960 to 1127AD). These once had a hand-beaten silver band around the rim which although still evident has mostly worn away. Superb underglaze boys and flower motifs are incised around the cavetto.
