Huge Chinese Qing Porcelain Gilt Crowned Buddha , 18C (K873)
This is an unusual and rare BUDDHA sculpture of the famous Buddha of Amida. This is a striking porcelain sculpture of Chinese origin that dates back to the Qing period. Amida is a representation of Buddha Amitabha, the Lord of the Western Pure Land. This Buddha appears very pious with his head slightly bowed down and his hands folded in the "Jo-in" meditative pose. He has been skillfully crafted as one can tell by the intricate folds in his clothing and the beauty on head crown. His facial features are equally fine and he displays a reserved and devout expression. He is seated in meditation with his legs crossed. Certainly this religious sculpture gives off a feeling of meditative peace and harmony.
