Grey pottery Western Han equestrian figure. The cavalryman wears a red tunic, clearly thickly padded from the rolls at the collar. He is ready to face the Xiong Nu. A blanket forms a rudimentary saddle on the sturdy white mount. This is larger than the size most commonly seen. Good facial details and pigment on the clothes and horse. This fine and genuine piece will make a welcome addition to any collection.
